The Postal Service invites employees and customers to show their support for this year’s Special Olympics World Games by writing letters to participating U.S. athletes.

Pacific Area employees and their friends and families kicked off the campaign last month, sending more than 3,000 letters before the dedication of the Special Olympics World Games stamp.

An additional 1,000 letters were sent by other employees and their friends and families.

The 2015 World Games will be held July 25-Aug. 2 in Los Angeles. More than 7,000 athletes from 177 countries will compete.

USPS encourages districts to promote the campaign by setting up letter-writing stations in Post Office lobbies or at community events.

The USPS Stamps blog has additional details, including tips on writing letters and mailing information.
