Western was the leader in area scanning scores during the week ending June 5, while Portland continued its long reign among the districts.

Western scored 96.81 percent, climbing five spots to finish first. Capital Metro (96.65 percent) was second, while Eastern (96.47 percent) held onto third place for the second consecutive week.

Portland (97.73 percent), which has led the districts since March, once again finished first. Sacramento (97.59 percent) jumped 13 spots to take second, while Greater Boston (97.53 percent) finished third.

The national scanning score was 96.4 percent, a slight increase from one week earlier.

Scanning allows customers to track their packages and other mail. It also helps the Postal Service improve efficiency and network management.

Scores and standings change continually. To see the latest results, go to the Enterprise Analytics site and use the Dashboards menu bar to select DES 2.
