Employees work together to help injured driver

Employee receives certificate from Postmaster
Retail Associate Susan Penney, left, receives a certificate from Postmaster Cheryl Judge.

Retail Associate Susan Penney was working near the rear dock of the Miamisburg, OH, Post Office recently when she heard someone screaming in pain.

Penney rushed outside, where a contract driver’s leg had become pinned between his truck and the dock. She hit the lift release button, freeing him.

Letter Carrier Ruth Bennett worked with Penney to put the driver in a chair. After 911 was called, Penney and Bennett administered first aid and kept the man calm until paramedics arrived.

The driver sustained only minor injuries.
