Scanning scorecard
Scanning helps USPS track mailpieces throughout the postal network.

The national scanning score was 96.94 percent for the week ending Jan. 29, up from one week earlier.

Western (97.57 percent) again led the areas. Southern (97.16 percent) finished second and Great Lakes (97.12 percent) took third.

Among the districts, Portland (98.06 percent) climbed two spots to take first. Western New York (98 percent) was second for the second consecutive week and Seattle (97.85 percent) climbed five spots to finish third.

Scanning allows customers to track their packages and other mail. It also helps the Postal Service improve efficiency and network management.

Scores and standings change continually. To see the latest results, go to the Enterprise Analytics site and use the Dashboards menu bar to select DES 2.
