Do you plug your personal devices into Postal Service equipment or computer networks?

If so, you’re creating a significant information security risk.

USPS is reminding employees that they should never connect their personal devices — including phones, tablets and electronic readers — to postal equipment or networks.

Here are two more tips to follow:

  • Don’t charge any device by using USPS equipment. If you need to charge a device, use an outlet.
  • Don’t log into the Postal Service wireless network with your personal device.

The Postal Service is distributing a poster and stand-up talk to remind employees of these rules.
