USPS employees who were affected by natural disasters this summer are receiving praise from PMG Megan J. Brennan.

“When disaster strikes a community, our employees work hard to quickly restore service, even though many of them must deal with disaster-related hardships in their own lives,” Brennan said.

“Their dedication is inspiring, and everyone at the Postal Service appreciates their exemplary performance under difficult circumstances.”

The PMG recently toured facilities and met with employees in Louisiana, which was stricken by historic flooding last month.

Brennan also praised the efforts of employees who work in other areas affected by disasters, including wildfires in the West, tornadoes in the Midwest and flooding in other parts of the nation.

The PMG reminded employees that the Postal Employees’ Relief Fund and Employee Assistance Program are available to help individuals whose lives are affected by natural disasters and other emergencies.

Employees also are reminded that September is National Preparedness Month, which encourages individuals to get ready for emergencies.
