The Postal Service offers several options to help customers meet the April 15 tax mailing deadline, including:
- Extended hours. With the PO Locator tool at usps.com, customers can locate Post Offices that will stay open later.
- Expedited mailing with postmark guarantees.USPS offers delivery confirmation with proof of receipt.
- Online services. Customers can use Click-N-Ship to print mailing labels with postage and arrange pickup with the Postal Service’s Free Package Pickup.
USPS also reminds customers to write clearly on tax packages, include return information and use sufficient postage. Tax returns bearing insufficient postage will be returned.
Additionally, customers with a lot of documents to mail are encouraged to use a suitable envelope or box. Priority Mail envelopes are recommended.
