Kinston, NC, Letter Carrier Mitch Hamilton was delivering mail during a recent snowfall when he heard someone calling for help.
The pleas were coming from a woman standing in a yard. She wasn’t wearing a coat and appeared to be disoriented.
Hamilton stopped his truck and approached the woman, whom he recognized as a nearby resident.
As he began walking the woman home, her husband approached and expressed his relief. He told Hamilton the woman has dementia and wandered away from home. The husband had been out in the snow, looking for her.
Hamilton stopped by the couple’s home later that day to check on the woman, who was doing fine.
