Reset revamp

USPS changes ePassword system to bolster security

Password reset
ACE computer users will soon be required to set up security questions and answers to reset forgotten passwords.

The Postal Service is revamping the ePassword reset system to provide additional security for users who forget their ACE computer passwords.

Beginning Aug. 31, users will be required to set up security questions and answers through the My Profile tab in eAccess.

The questions will be part of password recovery settings only for resetting forgotten ACE passwords, beginning Oct. 18. The questions will eliminate the need for users to enter their Social Security numbers to reset passwords.

The process for changing expiring passwords or resetting current passwords remains unchanged.
