USPS reaches another performance milestone

The Postal Service hit a new scanning milestone during the week ending Oct. 30, when 39 districts scored 97 percent or higher.

Western Area has the top three districts: Portland (97.84 percent), Hawkeye (97.82 percent) and Northland (97.8 percent), which rose 24 spots.

The other districts that scored at least 97 percent: Western New York, Alabama, Central Plains, Mid-America, Arkansas, Northern New England, Sierra Coastal, Greater Indiana, Baltimore, Sacramento, Dakotas, Greater Michigan, Lakeland, Albany, Long Island, Kentuckiana, Gulf Atlantic, Greensboro, Greater South Carolina, Greater Boston, Arizona, Louisiana, Nevada Sierra, Mid-Carolinas, Northern Virginia, Philadelphia Metro, Colorado/Wyoming, Richmond, Rio Grande, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, South Jersey, Westchester, Appalachian and Western Pennsylvania.

Among the areas, Western (97.38 percent) led, followed by Capital Metro (97.04 percent) and Great Lakes (96.87 percent).

The national scanning score was 96.85 percent, up from one week earlier.
