Houston Letter Carrier Craig Hall was delivering mail at a home recently when he heard a woman crying for help. She had suffered a stroke a few days earlier and was lying on the floor, unable to move.

Hall was unable to enter the house, so he called 911 and waited for the ambulance.

A few days later, the woman’s sister contacted Houston Customer Services Manager Andrew Jones to thank Hall for his “unselfish act of heroism.”

The woman is expected to recover.
