Top area, district standings see changes

Scanning helps USPS improve efficiency and network management.

There were changes near the top of the area and district scanning standings during the week ending Nov. 27.

Among the districts, Portland (97.71 percent) surged nine spots to take the lead. Western New York (97.71 percent) finished second, while Greater Boston (97.64 percent) rose three spots to third place.

Western (97.11 percent) again finished first among the areas, followed by Great Lakes (96.77 percent) and Pacific (96.68 percent), which climbed three spots to third.

The national scanning score was 96.74 percent, down from one week earlier.

Scanning allows customers to track their packages and other mail. It also helps the Postal Service improve efficiency and network management.
