Sa’fyre Terry could have asked for toys or video games this Christmas. Instead, the 8-year-old New York girl requested holiday cards from around the world.

What makes her wish even more special is that Sa’fyre is the sole survivor of a 2013 fire that killed her father and three younger siblings and resulted in the loss of her right hand and left foot.

Her aunt, Liz Dolder, posted the girl’s photo and Christmas wish on Facebook earlier this month. The outpouring of support has been tremendous.

The Postal Service estimates Sa’fyre has received between 175,000-195,000 cards and letters and thousands of packages so far.

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” Schenectady, NY, Postmaster John Reilly told the local CBS station.

Dolder told the Associated Press her niece has “been through hell and back. But she’s an amazing girl, just so full of life and love. We can’t keep her to ourselves. We wanted to share with the world her message of faith, hope and love.”

News organizations have published the address for people who wish to send cards: Sa’fyre, P.O. Box 6126, Schenectady, NY, 12306.
