Really big show

USPS technology touted at trade event

This year’s Consumer Electronics Show features a team of employees from across USPS.

The Postal Service showcased its latest innovations at the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

My USPS.com — which allows customers to track packages, manage deliveries and receive text and email alerts for incoming parcels — was highlighted along with the Postal Service’s augmented reality mobile app.

Other digital services showcased included Every Door Direct Mail, which allows businesses to target consumers based on their location and other demographics.

“The Consumer Electronics Show allows us to meet with customers from across the nation and show them how the Postal Service is using technology to better meet their needs,” said Sales VP Cliff Rucker. “It’s a valuable tool to promote our products and services.”

The Consumer Electronics Show draws more than 150,000 attendees each year, along with 6,000 reporters, bloggers and other members of the news media.

The Postal Service regularly participates in the show, including last year, when its display booth received widespread praise.

A team comprised of employees from across the Postal Service participated in this year’s show, which was held Jan. 6-9.
