Service ends manual processing

USPS has ended manual requests for Premium Forwarding Service Commercial.

USPS has ended manual requests for Premium Forwarding Service Commercial, aiming to improve the program that allows companies with multiple sites to receive business mail at a single address.

Previously, customers submitted written requests to Postmasters to enroll in the service and pay the annual fee. Customers will now enroll and pay online through the Business Customer Gateway.

“It eliminates all the middlemen with one service,” said New Products and Innovation VP Gary Reblin. “It gives commercial customers another way to organize their mail.”

The Postal Service collects non-registered mail from business Post Office boxes and street addresses. Employees will collect the mail and forward it daily, weekly or monthly to a new domestic destination of the customer’s choice.

Customers receive USPS tracking information for each forwarded container.

The service also allows business customers to modify or cancel shipments online and receive email or text message notifications when containers are on their way.
