National performance rises

Scanning helps USPS improve efficiency and network management.

The national scanning rating for the week ending Feb. 19 was 97.03 percent, up from the previous week.

Western (97.62 percent) once again led the areas. Great Lakes (97.12 percent) rose two spots to take second place and Southern (97.11 percent) finished third.

Thirty-seven districts reached or exceeded 97 percent. The leaders were Portland (98.13 percent), Arkansas (98.04 percent) and Dakotas (97.86 percent).

Scanning allows customers to track their packages and other mail. It also helps the Postal Service improve efficiency and network management.
