Forty-four districts exceed 97 percent

Timely and accurate scanning is a basic customer requirement.

The national scanning performance for the week ending Feb. 26 was 97.15 percent, up from the previous week.

Western (97.64 percent) led the areas. Southern (97.21 percent) and Eastern (97.2 percent) each rose one spot to take second and third place, respectively.

Forty-four districts exceeded 97 percent. Portland (98.15 percent) and Arkansas (98 percent) finished first and second, while Greater Indiana and Seattle tied for third at 97.91 percent.

Scanning allows customers to track their packages and other mail. It also helps the Postal Service improve efficiency and network management.
