President Obama has invited a Texas fourth-grader to the White House after she wrote him a letter to express her concerns about the homeless.

Daniella Hillan passed a homeless person on the street while shopping with her mom last year. When she got home, she decided to ask Obama for help.

“Can you make a building for the homeless and poor? Can I work there too? Cause I’ve always wanted to serve the homeless and poor,” Daniella wrote.

The 9-year-old and her family were surprised when the president responded.

“I’m struck by your commitment to making a difference in your community,” Obama wrote.

The president’s letter also included an invitation to the March 28 White House Easter egg roll.

Although Daniella is excited about the trip, she hasn’t lost sight of her desire to help people, according to her mother, Norma Gonzalez Hillan.

“She talks about it all the time,” Hillan told KEYE-TV. “She has a book where she writes different ways she wants to help.”
