Scanning helps USPS track mailpieces throughout the postal network

Western Area and Arkansas District topped the scanning scores during the week ending March 18.

Western (97.49 percent), which regularly leads the areas, once again finished first. Southern (97.3 percent) was second for the fourth straight week, while Great Lakes (97.2 percent) climbed one spot to take third.

Arkansas (98.17 percent) led the districts for the second consecutive week. Portland (98.02 percent) took second, while Northern New England (97.83 percent) finished third, up from ninth.

The national scanning score was 97.17 percent, up from one week earlier.

Scanning allows customers to track their packages and other mail. It also helps the Postal Service improve efficiency and network management.
