Fort Wayne, IN, Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC) Maintenance Mechanic Darrin Bieszke recently was recognized as the facility’s 2016 Citizen of the Year.

Bieszke was honored for making significant contributions in the Fort Wayne area.

“He is just an extraordinary person,” said Fort Wayne P&DC Manager Martin Hunnicutt. “He comes to work each day with a smile on his face. He’s always positive and willing to help and everything he does is done to perfection.”

Bieszke joined the Postal Service in 1998 after serving eight years in the Air Force as a medic. He and his wife, Jean, are raising eight children – five of whom were foster children the Bieskes adopted. The couple has fostered 12 children.

This is the second year the Fort Wayne plant has given out the employee community service award.
