The Postal Service is switching to a new commuter benefits provider, Commuter Benefits Solutions.

Through the commuter benefits program, USPS allows career employees to pay for some commuting costs using pretax money.

The benefit can be used for public transportation, vanpools or parking. Employees who participate could save up to 40 percent on commuting costs.

To avoid any gap in coverage, employees who currently receive commuter benefits must register with Commuter Benefits Solutions by June 27.

Employees can enroll or make changes to the program at any time throughout the year. There are no enrollment or cancelation fees.
