You’ve heard of Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. How about a day to bring your boss to work?

That’s what Hot Springs, SD, Postmaster Marcia Kenobbie experienced recently when Letter Carrier Jeffrey Beougher gave her a chance to look at his other job — as a member of the South Dakota National Guard.

Kenobbie participated in a program that aims to give employers a better understanding of what their employees do during their military service.

She toured a B-1 bomber and observed Humvee rollover and medic helicopter rescue simulations. Her day was capped by a stirring Blackhawk helicopter tour over Mt. Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Memorial and Pactola Lake.

“It was an honor to be nominated and truly an amazing experience to witness some of the incredible things our military does to keep us all safe,” Kenobbie said.
