News to go

When Jill Asato wants to know what’s happening with the Postal Service, she reaches for her smartphone and goes to the Link mobile site.

Asato, a Honolulu District address management systems technician, is one of thousands of employees who read the mobile-friendly version of Link, the Postal Service’s daily news site.

“It gives me a way to find out what’s going on with the Postal Service nationally when I’m at home or out and about running errands. I don’t always have the time when I’m at the office to read the PC-based version of Link,” Asato said.

The Postal Service introduced Link mobile this year for employees who don’t have access to ACE computers or prefer to read news on their mobile devices.

The site offers the same content that employees receive when they read Link on a desktop computer, including news reports, feature stories and videos.

Since Link mobile debuted in March, more than 12,000 subscribers have signed up to receive weekly emails that contain recent highlights.

Employees can subscribe by going to and providing a personal or work email address.

Valarie Rother, a Bank Secrecy Act acting compliance analyst in South Florida District, said Link mobile helps employees feel connected to each other.

“I love the personal stories of our postal family that I otherwise never might have known about,” she said.
