Want a faster way to reach Link mobile, the new mobile-friendly version of the Postal Service’s daily news site?

You can create a shortcut by “pinning” the site to the home screen of any mobile device.

The instructions vary depending on the type of device used:

• Apple. If you have an iPhone or an iPad, launch the Safari browser and go to link.usps.com.

Tap the share icon, which looks like an up arrow touching a square. This icon appears at the bottom of iPhone screens and the top of iPad screens.

Next, tap the “Add to Home Screen” icon. You’ll be prompted to name the shortcut (the default is “USPS news”), and then you can click “Add.”

A Link mobile icon will now appear on your home screen. When you click the icon, the site will open in Safari.

• Android. If you have an Android device, launch the Chrome for Android browser and go to link.usps.com.

Tap the menu button and select “Add to homescreen.” You’ll be able to enter a name for the shortcut, and then it will be added to your home screen.

The site How-To Geek has instructions for creating shortcuts for other devices, including Windows Phone.
