Customers can now see service alerts when they view usps.com on a mobile device or when they use the USPS Mobile app.
Service alerts keep customers updated on important mailing deadlines, weather-related interruptions and other activities that might affect package or mail deliveries.
The alerts appear in a red bar across the top of the screen. When necessary, links to additional information will appear in the alerts.
Through Dec. 25, a service alert with holiday mailing information appears.
Service alerts are the latest enhancement to USPS Mobile, which allows users to track packages, buy stamps, print shipping labels, schedule package pickups, find Post Office locations, look up ZIP Codes and more.
The USPS Mobile app can be downloaded to Apple and Android mobile devices. Customers can also view the alerts on the USPS Mobile Web.
