A new video from the Postal Service shows highlights from the recent dedication of the Oscar de la Renta stamps.
“He gave of his heart and soul to make sure that his example would live on,” Hillary Clinton says during the segment. “What a fitting person to be chosen by our Postal Service.”
Other luminaries from the worlds of business, politics and media saluted the famed fashion designer at the Feb. 16 event in New York City.
“I know Oscar would have loved these stamps,” says Anna Wintour, Condé Nast’s artistic director and Vogue’s editor in chief. “He delighted in color and pattern, in refinement and in fit. And his designs reflected his personality: optimistic and fun, and sunny and romantic.”
The 2-minute video also features comments from philanthropist and business leader Michael Bloomberg and Alexander Bolen, chief executive officer of de la Renta’s company.
