Sign of the times

Informed Delivery hits home with customer

Ryan Monell has nothing but praise for Informed Delivery, a new USPS feature that provides eligible residential consumers with digital previews of their incoming mail.

“My life right now is pretty busy,” Monell, who works in politics, says in a new video. “I’m not home a lot which is why I really rely on my phone throughout the day for email, texts and social media.”

Informed Delivery, an optional, free feature, provides users with images of the outside of their household’s letter-sized mailpieces before the pieces are delivered. These images are available via email notification or an online dashboard at informeddelivery.usps.com.

“I look forward to getting the email from USPS every day,” Monell says.

He appreciates how the feature eases the stress of his hectic days when he’s expecting cards, letters or invitations.

“I think it’s a sign of the times and it’s really cool that USPS is offering that service,” Monell says.

Informed Delivery is available in select ZIP Codes currently, although the feature will expand nationally by late April.

The Informed Delivery sites on Blue and LiteBlue have more information for employees.
