Relax. The Employee Engagement team has you covered.
The team has developed Creating an Engaging Workplace, a training course that aims to help participants achieve both goals.
Here’s what you need to know:
• Engagement is a priority. Boosting engagement — which describes employees’ involvement, enthusiasm and commitment — is one of the Postal Service’s core business strategies.
USPS measures engagement through the twice-yearly Postal Pulse survey.
• Creating an Engaging Workplace is comprehensive. The course is available to all managers, supervisors and Executive and Administrative Schedule employees.
The training shows how to apply the 12 principles of engagement in your workplace and take other steps to better engage employees.
The eight-hour classroom course is held in multiple locations throughout the year.
• The course works. During the latest Postal Pulse survey, grand mean scores were 60 percent higher for teams led by managers who attended the training. The grand mean is the average of the survey’s 12 questions.
