Scanning snapshot. The Postal Service’s national scanning rating was 97.59 percent during the week ending March 17, down from one week earlier.
Dakotas (98.75 percent) topped the districts, while Western (97.85 percent) led the areas.
Scanning allows customers to track their packages and mail. It also helps the Postal Service improve efficiency and network management.

Special dedication. USPS held a special dedication for the Dorothy Height stamp March 21 in Rankin, PA, where the civil rights icon grew up.
“Dorothy Height worked tirelessly to advocate for racial and gender equality and inspired countless men and women to work in support of social justice issues,” Eastern Area Operations Manager John J. Phelan told attendees.
The event, which was covered by the Tribune-Review and other outlets, also featured the swearing-in of Penny Graves as Postmaster of neighboring Braddock, PA.
