Artis Award announced. Karen Mazurkiewicz, an Eastern Area communications program specialist, recently received the Postal Service’s first Earl C. Artis Jr. Award.
The award is given to a Corporate Communications employee who demonstrates excellence in his or her work.
Mazurkiewicz serves Western New York and Central Pennsylvania districts.
She was honored for her contributions during the past year, including managing employee communications during a 2016 blizzard and helping to generate positive news coverage for USPS during the holidays.
The award is named for Artis, a Southern Area public affairs and communications manager who died in 2013.
Week of “Strength.” National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, an annual campaign to raise awareness of the services available to victims, will be held April 2-8 this year.
This year’s theme is “Strength, Resilience, Justice.”
The Office for Victims of Crime has information on its site, while the Postal Inspection Service’s site has resources for victims of postal crimes.
Dog days. The Postal Bulletin’s latest edition highlights National Dog Bite Prevention Week, which begins April 9.
