The Postal Service is helping an Illinois electronics company handle a sales surge after “Good Morning America” showcased the firm’s products on air.
Promier Products, based in Peru, manufactures portable LED flashlights, lanterns and work lights that are sold wholesale to more than 80,000 stores worldwide.
After “Good Morning America” spotlighted the products in a recent “Deals and Steals” segment, Promier suddenly had more than 35,000 First-Class Mail and Priority Mail packages to ship. The company contacted Peru Postmaster Janet Warmhoff for assistance.
“Helping customers is a part of my daily job,” she said.
After Warmhoff submitted a Business Connect lead, Central Illinois District Field Sales Representative Sylvia Allen-Hoover worked with her colleagues to devise a shipping plan tailored to Promier’s needs.
“[The district was] very helpful in letting the customer and I know about specialized shipping containers and postal promotions and products that could help with their shipping costs,” Warmhoff said.
She sees these efforts as another example of the success of Business Connect, a program that encourages Postmasters to promote USPS products and services.
“The bottom line is keeping our customers happy, which keeps them coming back to USPS, which in turn increases our revenue,” Warmhoff said.
