Scanning, NPF recruitment updates

Scanning snapshot
Western was the area leader in scanning during the week ending April 28, while Dakotas finished first among the districts.

Scanning snapshot. The Postal Service’s national scanning rating was 97.82 percent during the week ending April 28, down from one week earlier.

Dakotas (98.81 percent) topped the districts, while Western (98.15 percent) led the areas.

Scanning allows customers to track their packages and helps the Postal Service improve efficiency and network management.

To see the latest results, go to the Enterprise Analytics site and select “Scanning” on the left hand side, and then “DES 2 — Scan Performance” from the drop-down options.

Deadline extended. The Postal Service is giving employees more time to recruit business customers for this year’s National Postal Forum (NPF).

The recruitment program’s deadline, which was originally this week, has been extended until May 12. (USPS initially extended the deadline until May 8 before extending it again until May 12.)

Employees who are eligible to participate receive coupons that provide discounts to prospective attendees. Employees can qualify for a complimentary full registration to the event if they use these coupons to successfully recruit the required number of customers.

NPF, the mailing and shipping industry’s largest annual conference, will be held from May 21-24 in Baltimore.

The NPF Blue page has more information, including instructions on participating in the program.
