USPS was all business in May.
Post Offices across the nation hosted workshops and other activities for entrepreneurs throughout the month, including more than 3,000 events during National Small Business Week, which concluded May 6.
“We are implementing concerted efforts to inform small-business owners of the many benefits available to them when they create a partnership with the Postal Service,” said Sybil Koroma, a customer services manager in Fairfax, VA.
The events were part of the Postal Service’s ongoing efforts to better serve business customers, one of the organization’s priorities.
At some Post Offices, employees met individually with entrepreneurs to explain potential business uses of features like Informed Delivery, which provides residential customers with digital previews of their incoming mail.
Other Post Offices hosted “Grow Your Business” events where attendees learned about the benefits of Every Door Direct Mail, a service that allows businesses to target their mailings.
Detroit Lakes, MN, Postmaster Paul Collins said the entrepreneurs who attended his office’s event were eager to learn more about USPS products and services. “The customers were receptive and showed a lot of interest,” he said.
