An Indiana employee who credits an engagement initiative with saving her life is featured in the latest “Engage” video.
Peru Postmaster Connie Cade had her blood pressure screened this year through a Greater Indiana District wellness initiative and was shocked to discover it was dangerously high.
Cade saw a doctor, made lifestyle changes and improved her health.
“The wellness initiative … literally saved my life,” she says.
The initiative — which encourages district employees to improve their health in a variety of areas — is one way Greater Indiana strives to foster involvement, enthusiasm and commitment among its workforce, “Engage” reports.
Other efforts include promoting two-way communication between managers and employees and seeking feedback from employees at all levels.
“Levels don’t create great ideas, people do,” District Manager Todd Hawkins says.
The 5-minute video is the sixth installment of “Engage,” a series that debuted last year.
