’Zat you, Santa Claus?

St. Nick popping into Post Offices

Santa Claus, pleased to discover there is no waiting at the Brickell Postal Store in Miami, is served by retail associates Roberto Recio and Alicia Lightbourne.

Looking for Santa Claus? You might find him at your local Post Office, where the big guy seems to be popping up a lot these days.

Just ask Retail Associate Daniel Kiernan, who recently helped Santa mail some packages at the Brownville, KY, Post Office.

“I was surprised to see him in our lobby,” said Kiernan, who was photographed serving Santa at the counter.

The shot has made Kiernan popular with customers. “I show the picture to children who come in with their parents so they know Santa is in the area,” he said.

Two other retail associates, Roberto Recio and Alicia Lightbourne, also were surprised to wait on the visitor from way up north when he showed up in downtown Miami at the Brickell Postal Store.

“Talking to Santa, I realized that he and the Postal Service have more in common,” Lightbourne said. “We make sure that all packages get delivered just in time for Christmas. We are superheroes.”

In addition to visiting Post Offices, Santa recently appeared at kickoff events for the Postal Service’s Operation Santa program at both the James A. Farley Post Office in New York City and Greenmead Station in Los Angeles.
