The Postal Service continued to move forward during the final three months of 2017.

The organization reported its fiscal 2017 year-end financial results and received regulatory approval to adjust prices for some products and services, beginning Jan. 21, 2018.

Additionally, the White House nominated three individuals to the Postal Service Board of Governors and sent their names to the U.S. Senate for confirmation.

Stamp releases during the Oct. 1-Dec. 31 period included The Snowy Day, Christmas Carols, Celebrating African American History and Culture and The History of Hockey, as well as an Alzheimer’s semipostal stamp.

Other activities included the Postal Service’s annual Veterans Day commemorations, which included special pins for employees who served in the military.

As the holiday season began, USPS projected it will deliver more than 15 billion mailpieces between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day — including 850 million packages, a 10 percent increase in volume from the same period last year.

“Your efforts matter to our customers and the communities we serve,” PMG Megan J. Brennan said in her final Business Focus video message of the year. “Best wishes to you and your family for a safe and happy holiday.”
