Deputy Postmaster General Ronald Stroman discussed the advantages of Informed Delivery at the recent Reed Awards, which honor political campaigning, consulting and management.
Stroman, who is the Postal Service’s chief government relations officer, explained how campaigns can use Informed Delivery to make Political Mail more effective.
“It’s a great way to combine hard copy direct mail with digital mail, and I really think it’s going to be a game changer for the whole industry,” Stroman said at the event, which was held last week in Charleston, SC.
Informed Delivery is a free feature that allows users to digitally preview their incoming mail and manage their packages from computers, tablets and mobile devices.
Businesses, nonprofit organizations and others can use Informed Delivery to make their direct mailings more interactive.
“You know exactly what is coming to your mailbox that day, so you’re going to get two bites of the apple — the first on your phone, and the second at home,” Stroman said.
He also presented the first-ever Postal Service “best of the best” direct mail award to Red Maverick Media, a consulting firm based in Harrisburg, PA.
The Postal Service is a sponsor of the Reed Awards, which are organized by Campaigns & Elections, an organization that publishes a trade journal and holds educational conferences for people who work in politics, among other activities. The awards site has more information.
