Western was the area leader in scanning during the week ending July 13, while Dakotas finished first among the districts.

Scanning snapshot. The Postal Service’s national scanning rating was 97.76 percent during the week ending July 13, up from one week earlier.

Dakotas (99.16 percent) topped the districts, while Western (98.04 percent) led the areas.

Scanning allows customers to track their packages and mail, and it helps USPS improve efficiency and network management.

Hamilton Awards. The Postal Service is a gold winner in this year’s Alexander Hamilton Awards, which are given each year by Treasury & Risk Magazine to honor innovation in the corporate treasury, finance and risk management sectors.

USPS was recognized in the operational risk management and insurance category for its efforts to analyze data to address debit card fraud.

Heroic honors. The Postal Service will release its Honoring First Responders stamps Thursday, Sept. 13. The stamps, announced in May, will be dedicated that day in Missoula, MT. This week’s media advisory has more information.
