Cara Greene has been appointed acting controller and vice president for USPS. The appointment took effect last week.

She is responsible for certifying financial filings and overseeing external reporting, corporate accounting, accounting services, international accounting and compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley law, among other duties.

Greene worked as a senior manager for a large accounting firm and an international consulting company before joining USPS.

She began her postal career as external reporting program manager, then was named corporate accounting manager in 2016. During her tenure, she designed new procedures to mitigate financial reporting risks and led efforts to implement new accounting standards for leases.

Maura McDevitt, who previously served as controller and vice president, departed USPS this month to accept a position with another organization.
