Greensboro, NC, Safety Specialist Teresa Scott
Greensboro, NC, Acting Lean Safety Coordinator Teresa Scott helps the Postal Service ensure the well-being of its employees.

I’m an acting lean safety coordinator for Capital Metro Area’s Greensboro District. My job focuses on reducing accidents and using employee engagement to promote safe workplaces.

I work in Greensboro, NC, where I prepare daily reports on safety-related incidents, identify trends and develop plans to address opportunities for improvement.

I’m part of the district’s safety team. My colleagues and I visit facilities throughout the district, where we work with employee teams to help them develop solutions to their challenges. This includes creating training videos, employee recognition programs and other initiatives to share best practices.

When we engage our employees, they’re more than willing to share their knowledge. They’re the subject matter experts, and that makes them our best problem solvers. The health and well-being of our employees is of the utmost importance to our organization.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also love music and playing the piano, as well as cooking, sewing and gardening.

I joined the Postal Service as a clerk stenographer 32 years ago and since then have held a variety of positions, including labor relations specialist and safety specialist. What I enjoy most about USPS are the endless job possibilities, and the opportunity to work with truly amazing people.

Working for the Postal Service has been a wonderful career, and I feel truly blessed to be an employee of USPS and Greensboro District.

“On the job,” a series on individual employees and their contributions to the Postal Service, appears regularly in Link.
