Phelps to oversee pricing, costing

Steven Phelps will serve as the Postal Service’s acting pricing and costing vice president.

Steven Phelps has been named the Postal Service’s acting vice president of pricing and costing.

In this role, Phelps will oversee the development and implementation of pricing strategy, costing and regulatory reporting for all USPS products in an effort to strengthen the mailing experience for all customers.

Phelps, a 34-year employee, previously served as pricing manager. His other assignments have included regulatory reporting and cost analysis manager, as well as other positions in finance, marketing and operations. He began his career as a letter carrier in Hyattsville, MD.

Chief Financial Officer Joe Corbett announced Phelps’ appointment last week.

The previous pricing and costing vice president, Sharon Owens, has been named acting sales vice president.
