Three USPS Sales employees will receive complimentary registrations to the National Postal Forum after they signed up thousands of new users for Informed Delivery.
The employees each participated in a six-month sign-up challenge that concluded March 29.
Ted Ross III, a Dallas District sales executive who signed up 1,965 subscribers, finished first. He was followed by two Central Illinois District senior sales executives: Sylvia Allen-Hoover and Deana Carr, who signed up 1,621 and 1,045 subscribers, respectively.
The three employees used a variety of methods to generate interest in Informed Delivery.
For example, Ross set up informational tables at local gyms in the evenings and also contacted church groups as well as his fifth-grade teacher, who invited him to address an after-school meeting of teachers and parents.
Allen-Hoover promoted Informed Delivery at two local job fairs, while Carr touted the mail notification service at Postal Customer Council and Boy Scouts of America events.
All three employees also promoted Informed Delivery to co-workers.
Informed Delivery allows users to preview their incoming mail and manage their packages from smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. The free feature has about 16 million subscribers.
Increasing the number of subscribers will encourage more businesses to add interactive content to Informed Delivery emails, thereby boosting USPS revenue and the value of mail.
Ross, Allen-Hoover and Carr join several other employees who’ve received complimentary registrations to this year’s National Postal Forum, the mailing and shipping industry’s largest annual meeting.
