The Postal Service was all business, all the time in May.
The organization hosted workshops and other activities for entrepreneurs throughout the month, including many events during National Small Business Week from May 5-11.
During these events, known as Grow Your Business Days, small-business owners learned about USPS products and services that can help them attract customers and grow revenue.
“These events provide us the opportunity to teach business owners about USPS small-business offerings designed to help grow and innovate small business in a one-on-one setting,” said Monique Gillis, a customer services supervisor who participated in an event at the Merrifield, VA, Post Office.
In addition to showcasing Every Door Direct Mail, the Grow Your Business Day events gave employees an opportunity to educate businesses about Informed Delivery.
“It was a great feeling to see how excited the customers were to learn about our services,” said Andrea Ladewig, a part-time flexible clerk at the Valley View, TX, Post Office.
Other business activities in May included the National Postal Forum, which was held in Indianapolis from May 6-8, as well as a “mini postal forum” that the Philadelphia and South Jersey districts organized with local Postal Customer Councils.
