The USPS Sales team is challenging employees to submit sales leads in June, which is #LEADtheWay Month.
Sales wants employees to generate 20,000 leads this month, up from 18,800 leads during June 2018. So far this fiscal year, the employee leads programs have generated $600 million in estimated annualized revenue.
“Employee leads are vital because they help bring in new revenue and drive the Postal Service’s future growth,” said Mary Anderson, small-business sales director at USPS headquarters in Washington, DC.
Employees can pass on leads through several programs: Customer Connect (for letter carriers), Rural Reach (for rural carriers), Clerks Care (for retail associates and distribution clerks), Mail Handlers (for plant employees) and Submit a Lead (for everyone else, including Executive and Administrative Schedule employees).
To help promote the employee lead programs in June, Sales has placed lead submission boxes at plants and other large facilities to reach employees throughout the organization.
Business development specialists are also promoting the programs through special stand-up talks.
Alfonso Casas, a custodian at the Santa Clarita, CA, Processing and Distribution Center, recently used a submission box in the facility’s cafeteria to pass along a lead from a friend who owns a business.
“Everyone knows someone who can save money, so I asked my friend and he was definitely interested in learning how the Postal Service could help him,” Casas said.
In addition to the special displays, employees at Post Offices and plants can submit lead cards to their supervisors. Employees at other facilities can submit leads on Blue.
Said Anderson: “We are encouraging all employees to get out and look for leads wherever they are, either at the office or out and about with family and friends.”
