Flag notice. Independence Day, one of six days each year that Postal Service facilities are required to fly the POW-MIA flag, is Thursday, July 4.
The flag honors the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces held as prisoners of war or listed as missing in action.
Facilities that are open July 4 must display the POW-MIA flag, which must fly below the U.S. flag.
For more information, refer to the Postal Service’s Administrative Support Manual, which explains the organization’s guidelines for U.S. flag display and maintenance, as well as the requirements for displaying the POW-MIA flag.
All’s fair. USPS will release its State and County Fairs stamps Thursday, July 25.
The stamps, which were announced last fall, will be dedicated that day at the North Dakota State Fair in Minot.
The four stamps are se-tenant, which means they work together as a panorama and also as individual images.
