Business Connect. USPS recently recognized six employees for their contributions to Business Connect, a program that encourages managers to promote postal products and services to their customers.

The honorees are Customer Services Manager Deidra Solis (Kansas City, MO) and Postmasters Barbara Benefield (Holly Springs, GA), Vicki Johnson (Harrisburg, SD), Darlene Jones (Sodus, NY), Leilani Myers (Mendota, IL) and Brian Gabriel (Columbus Junction, IA).

Each employee increased his or her office’s revenue in fiscal 2019 compared to the same period one year earlier.

The employees were commended for their efforts to generate revenue and strengthen customer relationships during a ceremony at USPS headquarters in Washington, DC.

Flag notice. All Postal Service facilities should fly the U.S. flag at half-staff Tuesday, July 23, to honor John Paul Stevens, a retired U.S. Supreme Court associate justice who recently died.

To fly the flag at half-staff, hoist the flag to the peak for an instant and then lower it to the half-staff position. The flag should be raised to the peak again before it’s lowered for the day.

Eastern Area Update. USPS recently mailed the Eastern Area Update’s summer issue to employees in the area.

The issue, which features local coverage of this year’s Stamp Out Hunger food drive and other topics, is also available on Blue and LiteBlue.
