Video highlights stamp event

The recent Sesame Street stamp dedication ceremony is highlighted in a new Postal Service video.

The 1-minute, 17-second video features remarks from Ed Wells, senior vice president of international media and education for Sesame Workshop, the organization that produces “Sesame Street.”

“Our mission is to help children grow smarter, stronger and kinder, and we’ve been doing that for 50 years. Not only in America, but around the world in 150 countries,” Wells says in the video.

The video also shows USPS Finance and Planning Vice President Luke Grossmann, who led the ceremony, discussing the show’s educational and cultural significance.

The stamp pane, featuring 16 of the show’s beloved characters, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the influential TV series.

The ceremony took place June 22 in Detroit.
