Holiday Wreaths stamps announced

Holiday Wreaths stamps
USPS announced plans Sept. 23 to release Holiday Wreaths stamps this fall. The release will be among several holiday stamps available this year.

The Postal Service will release Holiday Wreaths stamps this fall to celebrate the variety of wreaths used to welcome the season.

The stamps will feature wreaths made from pine cones, dried flowers, berries and other materials that symbolize winter and the holidays, including:

  • A ribbon leaf wreath made of Aspidistra leaves that have been folded to resemble ribbons
  • A wreath trimmed with cranberry red ribbons and made of gilded pine cones and magnolia pods
  • A classic red and green wreath made of woodland bush ivy and red winterberries
  • A wreath adorned in red and gold ribbons, and made from gilded dried hydrangea, eucalyptus, red berries and small ornaments

Laura Dowling, the artist, and Kevin Allen, who photographed the wreaths, worked with Antonio Alcalá, the art director, to create the stamps.

The stamps, which will be this year’s contemporary holiday stamps, were announced Sept. 23. They will be among several holiday-themed stamps that will be available this year.

More details will be announced later.
