USPS recognized for military employment

The Postal Service workforce includes more than 100,000 veterans.

The Postal Service has been recognized again as one of the nation’s top employers of veterans.

Viqtory, a media and marketing company that produces magazines and websites for veterans and service members, included USPS in its 2020 Military Friendly Awards.

The Postal Service earned the No. 2 spot on Viqtory’s list of the top 10 government agencies and nonprofit organizations that employ veterans.

USPS ranked fifth on the 2019 list and seventh in 2018.

Viqtory’s MilitaryFriendly.com USPS page lists some postal jobs commonly filled by veterans, including automotive technicians and mechanics, customer service representatives, operations managers, and police and patrol officers.

USPS has more than 100,000 veterans in its workforce.

Other employers listed in the government and nonprofit top 10 include the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, the Tennessee Valley Authority, Kaiser Permanente, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Northwell Health, Baylor Scott & White Health, Haywood Vocational Opportunities and PenFed Credit Union.
