Western was the area leader in scanning during the week ending Nov. 8, while Dakotas finished first among the districts.

Scanning snapshot. The Postal Service’s national scanning rating was 97.89 percent during the week ending Nov. 8, up from one week earlier.

Western (98.14 percent) led the areas, while Dakotas (99.21 percent) topped the districts.

Scanning allows customers to track their packages and mail, and it helps USPS improve efficiency and network management.

To see the latest results, go to the Informed Visibility site and select “Customer Experience,” followed by “DES 2 Scan Performance.” Employees must request access to Informed Visibility through eAccess.

Long-distance cheer. The latest USPS blog post offers suggested mail-by dates for those planning to send holiday letters and packages to diplomatic and military service members overseas.

The entry highlights the Postal Service’s military mail shipping video and a USPS military care kit that contains Priority Mail products and accessories. The post also reminds customers to follow the destination country’s mailing guidelines, such as enclosing a customs form.

The Postal Posts blog is publishing holiday-themed entries each week throughout this year’s peak season.

Pacific peek. USPS recently mailed Pacific Area Update’s latest issue to employees in the area.

The newsletter, which is also available on Blue and LiteBlue, features articles on safety, career conferences and other topics.
